چکیده
Introduction: We aimed to analyze the frequency and risk factors of pneumothorax pulmonary hemorrhage caused by Computed Tomography (CT) guided needle biopsy. Methods: Demographical features, frequencies/risk factors, characteristics lesions patients who underwent a CT-guided lung biopsy in our institution between January 2013 August were reviewed retrospectively. The classified groups as nodular lesions≤3 cm diameter, lesions>3 consolidated lesions. Pneumothorax frequencies among compared using chi-square test. A p<0.05 was accepted statistically significant. Results: total number 122 with mean age 61±13 (19-88) years included. 28 (23%) female 94 (77%) male. 30 (24%) 57 (47%) cm, 35 (29%) developed 15 (12%) while chest tube insertion required 4 (3%) them. Pulmonary occurred 14 (11%) patients. Hemoptysis hemothorax not observed this study. Pleura-based significantly less associated when ones far from pleura (P<0.001). Usage 17-gauge more than 19-gauge (p:0.048). during than<3 Conclusion: Nodular location usage tend be frequent complications.

Diagnostic efficacy of computed tomography-guided transthoracic needle aspiration and biopsy in patients with pulmonary disease
BACKGROUND Computed tomography-guided transthoracic needle aspiration (TTNA) and biopsy (TTNB) is a well established, safe, and rapid method of reaching a definitive diagnosis for most thoracic lesions. The present study aimed to determine the roles of TTNA and TTNB in the diagnosis of pulmonary diseases and to compare the results using these two techniques. METHODS TTNB and TTNA were perform...
متن کاملComputed tomography-guided cutting needle biopsy of pulmonary lesions.
PURPOSE To report the experience of a radiology department in the use of computed tomography - guided cutting needle biopsy of pulmonary nodules, by evaluating diagnostic yield and incidence of complications. METHODS This is a retrospective analysis of 52 consecutive patients who underwent lung lesion biopsy guided by computed tomography, performed between May 1997 and May 2000. Thirty-five p...
متن کاملDiagnostic yield and complications of transthoracic computed tomography-guided biopsies.
INTRODUCTION The widespread use of computed tomography (CT) improves detection of pulmonary lesions, which are not only detected at an increased rate but also at a smaller size. CT-guided lung biopsies are now more frequently used than fluoroscopy-guided lung biopsies. The main aim of the present paper was to investigate the outcome and complications of the biopsies. METHODS We retrospectivel...

association has been described with similar results and could be due to a combination of the effects of obesity and diffuse airway obstruction. Obesity is known to be a major risk factor for OSA linked with increased neck circumference and amounts of peripharyngeal fat, which could narrow and compress the upper airway; obesity may also play a role by reducing lung volumes. Obesity affects ERV b...
متن کاملSimultaneous computed tomography-guided biopsy and radiofrequency ablation of solitary pulmonary malignancy in high-risk patients.
BACKGROUND In recent years experience has been accumulated in percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (RFA) of lung malignancies in nonsurgical patients. OBJECTIVES In this study, we retrospectively evaluated a simultaneous diagnostic and therapeutic approach including CT-guided biopsy followed immediately by RFA of solitary malignant pulmonary lesions. METHODS CT-guided transthoracic core nee...
